Fire causes $300,000 in damages to Hoffman Estates house
A Tuesday afternoon fire caused an estimated $300,000 damage to a Hoffman Estates home and its contents, according to fire officials.
A neighbor to the home in the 5000 block of N. Tamarack Drive saw the house on fire while getting her mail at 2:03 p.m., according to the Hoffman Estates fire department.
Arriving firefighters, found fire and smoke showing from the second floor of the house and after searching the home for occupants, were able to bring the blaze under control quickly.
Fire officials said an extensive overhaul was needed due to the amount of fire damage inside the home.
The residents were not home when the fire broke out and there were no injures, officials said.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation Tuesday night.
The Palatine and Palatine Rural Fire Departments assisted at the scene.
