1 hospitalized overnight from Indiana fair stagecoach crash

INDIANAPOLIS - Officials say one person remained hospitalized overnight after being hurt when a stagecoach tipped over before an Indiana State Fair horse show.

Fair spokesman Andy Klotz says five people were taken to a hospital with minors injuries after the crash Sunday afternoon inside the Pepsi Coliseum.

Video taken by crowd members showed the six-horse coach tipping onto its side while making a turn on the arena's dirt floor. State Fair Queen Erika Burghardt of Mulberry was riding with the stagecoach driver when it crashed, but the videos showed her standing up right after the fall.

The driver wasn't hurt and the others were riding inside the stagecoach.

The crash happened the day before the one-year anniversary of the outdoor stage rigging collapse at the fair that killed seven people.
