Fatal Streamwood crash under investigation

Streamwood police continue to investigate a fatal crash that occurred on Saturday at Route 20 and Park Avenue.

The Cook County Medical Examiner’s office identified the victim as 66-year-old Linda Reinert of Bartlett. An autopsy determined she died of multiple injuries in an accident.

Police were unavailable Sunday to confirm additional details such as the time of the crash, which was reported in a news release.

According to the release, three vehicles were involved. A preliminary investigation revealed that one vehicle was traveling west on Route 20, while another vehicle was turning left onto northbound Park Avenue from eastbound Route 20. A third vehicle was stopped in the intersection on southbound Park Avenue, waiting to turn west on Route 20.

Police said one driver and a child passenger were taken to St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates with serious injuries. The driver died shortly after arriving at the hospital.
