Man injured in Naperville crash

A man in his late 50s was taken to Edward Hospital in Naperville after a Saturday morning crash at Ogden and Aurora avenues that required emergency crews to extricate him from the car, authorities said.

The crash occurred just before 7 a.m. at the intersection in Naperville when one vehicle struck the side of another vehicle, Naperville Fire Capt. Thomas Hedberg said.

There were no passengers in either vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle, a 28-year-old man, was evaluated at the scene and refused transportation to a hospital, Hedberg said.

The collision itself was minor, but to minimize injury to one of the victims, Hedberg said, the Naperville Fire Department pried open his vehicle’s door before helping the driver out.

Naperville police are investigating the crash.
