CHICAGO — Chicago police say a man has been hospitalized after being stabbed near the Lollapalooza music festival.

Chicago Police Department news affairs officer Amina Greer said Saturday that a 53-year-old male suffered a stab wound to the chest at about 7 p.m. Friday.

It occurred in the 200 block of South Michigan Ave., outside of Grant Park, where the three-day music festival is being held.

Greer said the man was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in stable condition. His name has not been released.

She said the investigation was ongoing.

The sold-out festival runs through Sunday.
