Pitching matchups: The White Sox’ Philip Humber (5-5) vs. Zack Greinke (0-1) Friday at 7:10 p.m.; Gavin Floyd (8-9) vs. Ervin Santana (5-10) Saturday at 6:10 p.m.; Francisco Liriano (0-0) vs. Dan Haren (8-8) Sunday at 1:10.

At a glance: The hard part is seemingly over for the White Sox. They opened the second half of the season with 16 of 19 games on the road and went 7-9. The Sox are back on the South Side after going 4-2 on a trip to Texas and Minnesota. They have won 10 of their last 11 at the Cell. Liriano makes his home debut Sunday after being acquired in a trade from the Twins last Saturday. The left-hander pitched vs. his old team Tuesday and did well, allowing 2 runs in 6 innings. Humber is coming off a solid outing, allowing 1 earned run in 6 innings Saturday at Texas. The White Sox tried to get Greinke before the July 31 trade deadline and lost out to Los Angeles. In his Angels debut Sunday, Greinke took the loss despite allowing 2 runs in 7 innings vs. Tampa Bay. When he was with the Brewers, Greinke pitched a complete-game shutout vs. the Sox at the Cell on June 22. The White Sox and Angels split a two-game series in Anaheim in mid-May.
