Walker to speak to Wisconsin group that denies warming

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker plans to speak next week at a prominent think tank that denies the existence of man-made global warming.

Walker is scheduled to appear Aug. 9 at the Chicago-based Heartland Institute. His keynote speech is part of a dinner celebrating Heartland’s 28th anniversary.

Heartland bills itself as discovering, developing, and promoting free-market solutions to social and economic issues.

Walker has been a hot ticket across the country at similar conservative groups, especially when he became the target of a recall effort last year.

Walker won the recall on June 5 by 7 points.

Heartland says in a release announcing his appearance that Walker’s win was a victory for the taxpayers of Wisconsin.
