Chicago police: 2 boys had Molotov cocktails

Police in Chicago are questioning two young boys who were caught with homemade explosives on the city’s North Side.

The boys were stopped while walking in the Rogers Park neighborhood on Monday night.

Authorities say an 11-year-old boy was spotted holding what police called a Molotov cocktail. The officers confiscated bottles full of a liquid suspected to be gasoline with cloth wicks stuck in the tops. Police say someone nearby was holding a gas can and the boys also had a lighter.

There’s no word on charges against the boys.
