Police identify suspect in warehouse shooting

Police have identified the suspect in a workplace shooting that injured one person at a distribution warehouse in Manteno.

Kankakee County sheriff’s office Chief Deputy Ken McCabe said Thursday that an arrest warrant has been issued for 25-year-old Rene Flores.

McCabe says the assailant, dressed in black and wearing a black baseball cap, fled the scene in a car with tinted windows. The sheriff’s department says Flores should be considered armed and dangerous. A reward of up to $1,000 is being offered for information leading to his arrest.

Wednesday’s shooting took place just before 2 p.m. in Manteno.

McCabe says the victim has been flown to a Chicago-area hospital and is in stable condition.
