Idea Garden in St. Charles July 25-26

The University of Illinois Extension Master Gardeners invite the public to visit their Idea Garden.

Eight garden beds are designed to show homeowner garden techniques that can be easily replicated in their own yards.

The centerpiece garden is a suburban interpretation of an African keyhole garden, which is made using compost materials and little water.

The Idea Garden will be open to the public from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, and 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, July 26.

The garden is behind the Master Gardener vegetable stand at the corner of Peck Road and Route 38 in St. Charles. Enter via the Route 38 entrance.

The vegetable stand will open for the season also on Wednesday, July 25.

Freshly harvested vegetables, grown on-site in a pesticide-free garden, will be available at reasonable prices on Wednesdays, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. throughout the season.
