Arlington Hts.: Treat trees for EAB now

As the Arlington Heights Village Board and residents lament, these coming attractions will soon appear in your neighborhood:

Ÿ 10-15 percent drop in home values

Ÿ 15 percent more stormwater dumped into storm sewers and basements

Ÿ Increased utility costs, air pollution and traffic noise

Ÿ Damaged landscaping and lawns

If you are hot now, imagine the loss of 13,000 shade trees or the next extended summer power outage. These problems will persist for 15 to 20 years until replacement trees reach maturity!

The solution? Treat your ash trees for EAB now! Even without quantity pricing, prices are lower, averaging $100 per tree. TREEage insecticide is 98 percent effective and lasts two to three years.

Another option is to contact the Village Board. Villages such as Schaumburg, Naperville, South Barrington, etc. are taking full responsibility for treating their trees. Treating all trees will cost approximately $100 per tree versus $900 per tree for removal/replacement.

Ask officials to make the right choice to pay to treat our trees. Not only is it more cost effective, it will preserve our neighborhoods.
