Top Chef Just Desserts season two contestant Amanda Rockman will demonstrate and share her favorite desserts at Ela Area Public Library, 275 Mohawk Trail, Lake Zurich on Monday, July 30. The event is 7 to 8 p.m. There is a $3 tasting fee to attend the program, and recipes are included. Registration is required, and seating is limited. Sign up at the Information Desk or online at www.eapl.org. Rockman is an executive pastry chef for The Bristol and Balena restaurants in Chicago. She has worked at TRU, where she started their chocolate program, worked as the executive pastry chef of FINO and ASTI Trattoria in Austin, Texas, and returned to Chicago to help open Laurent Gras's L.20. At the age of 26, she became the pastry sous chef at The Peninsula Hotel where she met her mentor, Celine Plano.
