Barrington opera group enjoys soiree in Medinah

The Barrington Chapter Lyric Opera of Chicago (BCLOC) hosted an afternoon soiree of opera arias and a luncheon at the beautiful Medinah Country Club, host of the 2012 Ryder Cup.

A plated luncheon on April 25 was followed by entertainment, which included arias sung by internationally known bass Andrea Silvestrelli and acclaimed soprano Kimberly Jones. The accompanist was Irina Feoktistova.

Concluding the afternoon, the following 2012-13 BCLOC officers were installed: Maureen Brown, Lake Zurich, hospitality; Past President Howard Robins, Arlington Heights, development; President Marlene Boncosky, Crystal Lake; Margit Vogel, Lake Barrington, reservations; Glenne McMonigal, Crystal Lake, co-chair publicity; Heide Carlini, Barrington, archivist; Dr. Gerald Budzik, Huntley, secretary and membership; Claudia Bostic, Kildeer, invitations; Linda Budzik, Huntley, volunteers and newsletter; Nancy Hozian, Kildeer, membership and reservations; Mary Green, Barrington, vice president education; Diane Johnson, Arlington Heights, operathon; Toni Savadel, Carpentersville, hospitality; and Charlene Jacobsen, Arlington Heights, vice president programs. Absent were: David Nelleman, St. Charles, treasurer; Past President Mary Robins, Arlington Heights, vice president programs; and Catherine Mura, Lake Barrington, co-chair publicity.
