Barrington Strings free concert Friday

Members of the Barrington Strings Summer Camp will hold a free concert at 1:30 p.m. Friday, July 20 in the air-conditioned Jewel Tea Pavilion at Citizen’s Park, just north of the Barrington Public Library on Northwest Highway.

The Strings Summer Camp is sponsored by the Suzuki Music School of Barrington and the Barrington Suzuki Strings. The camp is celebrating its third year of providing an opportunity for middle and high school string students to play more advanced popular music.

Concertgoers will hear the music and sounds of Irving Berlin, a Harry Potter medley, Fiddler on the Roof, a Mancini medley, Pirates of the Caribbean, Phantom of the Opera and other familiar pieces. For more information, call (847) 519-7970.
