Fire damages Lombard residence

A fire early Thursday morning caused between $30,000 and $50,000 in damage to a multi-family residential building in Lombard, authorities said.

The fire broke out about 1 a.m. at a two-story building in the 0 to 100 block of East Oakton Drive. Firefighters found a large amount of fire on the roof, but no residents were home at the time and no one was injured.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
