The Who plan U.S. tour, talk Olympics

NEW YORK — The Who’s Roger Daltrey and Pete Townshend are taking “Quadrophenia” and other Who classics on the road for a U.S. tour this fall, but first plan what Daltrey calls a great finale for the Olympic Games in London.

The group made the announcement Wednesday during an online video conference.

The surviving members of the legendary band will play “Quadrophenia” in its entirety, as well as other Who classics.

The pair also said they were scheduled to close out the Olympics. Daltrey says the music the group has recorded shows the great music that has come out of Great Britain.

The London Olympics start July 27 and run until Aug. 12.

The Who tour kicks off in Sunrise, Fla., on Nov. 1.
