Woman charged with stalking Cubs President Theo Epstein

A woman from Massachusetts was charged with two counts of stalking after she was arrested near Chicago Cubs President Theo Epstein’s home Monday night.

Kathleen Kearney, 44, is expected to appear in central bond court while facing two counts of felony stalking, Chicago Police officials said Tuesday morning.

Kearney was arrested by Chicago Police at about 6 p.m. in the 1400 block of West Addison Street, about two blocks from Epstein’s Lakeview home, authorities said.

The Chicago Tribune is reporting that Kearney told police when she was arrested that she was “inviting Mr. Epstein to go to church.”

The Tribune is also reporting that Kearney told officers she had been watching the home and was going there to extend the invitation.

Police would not confirm that information when called Tuesday.
