Springbrook Prairie’s new status welcome
The River Prairie Group of the Sierra Club is thrilled to support the Forest Preserve Commission of DuPage County in their nomination of Springbrook Prairie as an Illinois Nature Preserve.
Achieving this status protects the land as a high quality habitat for endangered and threatened species in perpetuity. Residents of DuPage will continue to enjoy amenities of this preserve, however so will their original inhabitants, the flora and fauna. This adds one more gem to the crown jewel of DuPage as a leader in protection of open space.
