Rock 'n Roll... Without the Instruments?

Ac Rock, Chicagoland's premier a capella quartet, took to the stage on July 12 at the Lake Park Memorial Pavilion, as part of the Live at the Lake free summer entertainment series. Performing boomer rock from the ‘50's to today, including Oh, What a Night, Rock n‘ Me, and The Way You Look Tonight, the group had the crowd singin' along to all of their doo-wop favorites. “When you close your eyes, and listen to their vocal harmony, it is hard to believe there isn't a band backing them up,” said Nancy Suwalski, Cultural Arts Supervisor for the Des Plaines Park District. One of the highlights of the evening was Ac Rock's performance of Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody. “You hear all kinds of songs, not usually performed a capella, and the crowd loves it” Suwalski said.

The next Live at the Lake shows are: July 18 - Artistry in Motion Dance Company; July 25 - Super Stolie and the Rockstars; and July 26 - Jin and Tonic Band.
