Libertyville attorney dies

Michael Schostok, a well-known attorney from Libertyville, died at his home Sunday following a long battle with brain cancer, friends of the retired attorney said Monday. Schostok, who retired from Salvi, Schostok and Pritchard in 2011 due to health issues, is the husband of Appellate Judge Mary Seminara-Schostok, an associate justice in the 2nd District Appellate Court. Michael Schostok served as an assistant state‘s attorney in Lake County, and was also the 50th president of the Illinois Trial Lawyers Association, a past chairman of ITLA’s continuing legal education/seminar program and was elected to serve on the Board of Governors of the Illinois State Bar Association. The 51-year-old Schostok had three children. Funeral arrangements are pending.
