Shih Tzu Shuffle in Vernon Hills

New Beginning Shih Tzu Rescue is hosting the fourth annual Shih Tzu Shuffle from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, July 21 at Deerpath Park, near Warrington Road and Elm Tree Lane, Vernon Hills. The events includes: foster dogs to meet; vendor booths; information sessions on basic care, first aid, and managing behaviors; a dog walk; dog races; a fashion show; kids’ activities; silent auction; raffles; food and refreshments. Raffle items include an autographed Chicago Bears football, a Green Bay Packers football, Harley-Davidson leather jackets, American Girls dolls, and Great America tickets. The volunteer organization rescues Shih Tzu, Shih Tzu mixes, and other small breed dogs. It provides complete veterinary care, grooming, training, and rehabilitation with the eventual goal of placing the dogs in prescreened, loving forever homes. Visit on Facebook or www.nbstr.org.
