Service to country is worthy of note

Joe Walsh says that all Tammy Duckworth talks about is her time in armed services to this country. Well, Joe, it is something to be very proud of. He also says that most “heroes” don’t talk about their service. Joe, have you ever even served in the military? Sen. John McCain was a prisoner of war, and he has a disabled arm because of it. Maybe he didn’t personally say much about it, but his election staff certainly did.

War hero against the first black man to run for president ... what did Obama do? McCain was a war hero. Get my drift? Both McCain and Duckworth are very proud of their service and deal with their injuries in a very special way. Both certainly are war heroes. Perhaps they would be talking about the issues at hand, had not Mr. Walsh decided to attack and belittle her service!

Tammy would not make personal attacks on an opponent, but she will stand up to them as she stood up for our country.

I consider myself an independent voter, for the best man or woman, and in this case Tammy is the best. Tammy is very selfless; she has always been serving this country in one way or another. When she ran against Peter Roskam, I campaigned for her and met her several times. She is real, down to earth, intelligent, and of any future politician you may have ever met, she is truly “one of us” and will represent us when she beats the pants off Joe Walsh in November.

I don’t care if you are Republican or Democrat — you should vote for the better candidate, and in my opinion that would be Tammy Duckworth.
