New downtown leader in Highland Park
Jessica Weglarz recently was named executive director of the Downtown Highland Park Alliance. In that position, the native of Peoria will work with business owners and community members to enhance the economic vitality of the downtown, oversee operations, develop and administer annual plans and budgets and cultivate partnerships to further the work of the group. Before joining the alliance, Weglarz was director of research for the Economic Development Council for Central Illinois. She was named one of the Top 40 Leaders Under 40 in Greater Peoria in 2009 and one of the top 25 Women in Leadership in Greater Peoria in 2010. Visit www.downtownhp.com or call (847) 780-4293.
