Rash of car burglaries in Rolling Meadows
Rolling Meadows police are warning residents to lock their car doors and take valuables inside after a rash of vehicle burglaries earlier this week.
About 20 cars in driveways were broken into between Monday night and Tuesday morning, said Sgt. Tom Gadomski.
The burglaries all took place in the central part of town between Kirchoff and Central roads. Everything from loose change to GPS systems was taken.
Most of the cars were unlocked, Gadomski said.
“We are begging people to please take their valuables inside and lock their cars,” he said. “Don’t leave anything out in plain view. That’s just giving the bad guy that opportunity.”
Police are investigating whether all the burglaries are related, and do not have any suspects so far.
“If you hear anything suspicious or see someone who shouldn’t be in the neighborhood, we’re asking people to call 911 immediately,” Gadomski said.
