St. Charles garden walk features five locations

How are area gardening enthusiasts keeping things growing during hot, dry weather?

Visitors will have a chance to tour gardens and ask questions Saturday, July 14, when the Pottawatomie Garden Club of St. Charles holds its biennial garden walk from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This year’s theme is “A Kaleidoscope of Garden Colors” and features five diverse gardens.

A Garden Gate Boutique will offer a collection of curios, garden whimsy and unique accents for the home and garden.

Proceeds from the event are designated for a $3,000 annual scholarship that is awarded to a local horticultural student.

Tickets are $15 in advance or $18 the day of the walk and can be purchased at Blue Goose, 300 S. 2nd St., St. Charles; Heinz Brothers Greenhouse, 2010 E. Main St., St. Charles; or Wasco Nursery, 41W781 Route 64, St. Charles.

Tickets can also be purchased at each of the five homes. For details, visit www.pottagardenclub.org.
