Chippewa Park has new playground

Chippewa Park has a new playground just in time for summer.

The equipment, installed by the Des Plaines Park District Parks Department, includes two new slides, one with a shaded top; four swings, two bench and two bucket; a bridge; and plenty of climbers and hand holds.

“It is a lot of action packed into a small playground,” said Paul Cathey, superintendent of Parks and Planning. “The park district has also resurfaced the tennis courts, so we hope families will come out and play,” said Cathey.

Chippewa Park is at 209 N. 8th Ave., in Des Plaines, adjacent to Chippewa Pool.
