Last time: On Sunday, the visiting Silver Stars defeated New York, 94-81; Saturday, the Sky lost at Indiana, 88-86 in overtime
Skinny: One streak will be ending as the hottest team in the WNBA takes on one of the coldest. The Silver Stars have won seven straight games, best in the league. The Sky is on a two-game skid, but has also lost six of its last seven games. …To add insult to injury, the Sky last two loses were well within grasp. A 64-59 loss to New York came in the wake of 15 missed free throws and 10 missed layups. In the OT loss at Indiana, the Sky had chances to win at both the end of regulation and overtime but never got a shot off.
Once in first place, the Sky is now in third in the Eastern Conference, 3 ½ games behind the first-place Connecticut Sun. … San Antonio has jumped to second place in the Western Conference after Sunday's decisive win in New York. Point guard Becky Hammon, the Player of the Week in the West, rolled up 23 points and 6 assists. The Silver Stars also got 24 points from former Sky guard Jia Perkins. … The good news for the Sky is that it beat San Antonio, 77-63, on May 30 in Texas.
