ComEd did great job restoring power

We just wanted to give a shout out to the ComEd team that addressed the downed wire and subsequent fire damage in Gilberts on July 4.

An auto accident took out a telephone pole on Tyrrell Road and caused a live wire to start a fire on the very dry lawns. The fire department took care of the raging fire. However, the flames and heat had destroyed the electrical connections to most of the houses in the Indian Trails subdivision.

ComEd worked well into the night in the heat to make the area safe and restore power to some of the homes — and they were back again in the very early morning hours to finish the job.

Thank you, ComEd.
