Lakewood ‘Family Fest’ offers entertainment

Enjoy free family fun at “Family Fest” from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday, July 7 at Lakewood Commons, 8505 Redtail Drive, off Ackman Road in Lakewood.

The day will be packed with family entertainment. Among some of the day’s featured activities are Northern Illinois’ “Science Guy” at 1:30 p.m. and Ms. Deena at 4 p.m., who will provide music and stories for preschoolers; performances by the Illinois Martial Arts Academy at 1:45 and 3:30 p.m.; live music throughout the day with Mike Daily at 1 and 4:15 p.m.; and even an unplugged concert by HiFi Superstar at 2:30 p.m.

Entertainment at the event will also include multiple bounce houses, obstacle courses, carnival games, crafts, face painting and a special touch-a-truck exhibit. There will even be free totes for the first 250 families.
