Hawthorn Woods Elite close successful first season

The Hawthorn Woods Elite U17 Girls team, has a lot to smile about. Bringing the season to a close with a win is always satisfying, but when it’s your first official season as a team, with a new club, the victory is extra sweet.

So it was for Hawthorn Woods Elite U17 Girls team in their first year as a team, with the recently formed Hawthorn Woods Elite Soccer Club.

The U17 girls cleaned up at the KISS Kalamazoo Invitational Soccer Showcase. With Wins against the MN Fire White, Eclipse Select NWI, USA Elite Dynamites, and a 1-1 tie vs. Windy City Pride, the Hawthorn Woods Elite U17 team took away the top prize in the Blue Division, on what turned out to be a beautiful sunny day in Kalamazoo, Mich.

The team, which is coached by Tom Chmela, is now in training for its second outdoor club season and looking forward to a bright future, which will include playing in college for many of them.
