Sign up for an up close and personal look at the bison, deer and elk at the Lords Park Zoo on Saturday, June 30. Meet at the Elgin Public Museum for a short introduction after which they will head to the zoo to assist the Lords Park zookeeper in feeding these animals.
The Bison Feeding will begin at 7 a.m. at the museum building, located in Elgin's Lords Park at 225 Grand Blvd. Cost is $2 for adults, $1 for children, and free for museum members.

PAWS: The Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., offers its "PAWS" preschool program. Help stimulate a child's natural curiosity of the diverse world around them through stories, games, crafts, songs and museum objects.
Children 3-5 years old and their caregivers are invited to these education programs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on the third Saturday of each month. The fee is $10 per children or $8 for museum members.

"Ramadan's Lanterns": On Saturday, July 28, the Elgin Public Museum, 225 Grand Blvd., offers "Ramadan's Lanterns" from noon to 1 p.m. Ramadan begins on July 20 in 2012 and is a month of fasting and celebration for Muslim people around the world. In Egypt the cultural tradition is light up the night with beautiful lanterns during the month of Ramadan.
