Gurnee Park District will welcome area youngsters to its 10th Annual Fishing Derby on Saturday, July 14. It's a free event that'll run from 8:30 to 11 a.m. It's geared for children 5 to 11 years old. Registration will start at 8 a.m. at the Hunt Club Park pond, 900 N. Hunt Club Road in Gurnee. Prizes will be awarded for the most fish caught, biggest and smallest catch, and the most unusual catch. Bait will be provided and a limited number of poles will also be available. Participants are encouraged to bring their own poles.
