The Algonquin Area Public Library Eastgate Branch, 115 Eastgate Drive, has been closed temporarily due to a lack of air conditioning. Members are encouraged to visit the main library at 2600 Harnish Drive.

The air went out sometime over the weekend. "It's too hot for people to work in there," Assistant Administration Librarian Louise Nee said. The library is working on day-to-day solutions until the branch can be opened again, she said.

The branch will transfer holds to the main library and will contact patrons when holds are ready.

The outside book drop at the Eastgate Branch will remain open, but all inside rooms will be closed. All programs and groups scheduled to meet at the branch have been canceled until further notice.
