Fox Valley Rep, Geneva club collect donations to help the needy

Through Fox Valley Repertory's “FVR Give$ Back” program, they have partnered with the Geneva Lions Club to collect donations during "Some Enchanted Evening" performances to help make the Fox Valley community better, one life at a time.

Patrons will have the opportunity to contribute to the cause after each performance at the Pheasant Run Resort Mainstage now through July 22, 2012 (4051 E. Main St., St. Charles, IL; box office 630-584-6342).

Now celebrating 75 years of service to the Fox Valley community, the Geneva Lions Club helps to support services such as Camp Lions for Deaf and Blind Youth, free vision and hearing screenings, and assistance for eyeglasses and hearing aids for local youth in the community.

Geneva Lion Tim Vetang attended the opening night performance at Pheasant Run and is very grateful for this fundraising partnership with Fox Valley Repertory.

“Donations by Fox Valley Rep patrons will help us to support and donate to local organizations such as CASA of Kane County, Lazarus House, Tri-City Health Partnership, provide eye exams and glasses for those in need, plus numerous service projects to the benefit of the Geneva, St. Charles area,” says Tim. “If you ever wanted to serve your community, NOW is the time and the Geneva Lions Club is the best place to start. Find out how by calling Lion Doug at (630) 232-9700.”

Also, a portion of the proceeds will support Fox Valley Repertory's very own Performing Arts Academy, which serves local students year round through programs that encourage students to explore their own lives through the performing arts. The “FVR Give$ Back” program has raised over $10,000 for local charities.

"Some Enchanted Evening" runs through Sunday, July 22, 2012. Show times are Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m.; Sundays at 2 p.m. Thursday performances are June 14 and 28 and July 19 at 2 p.m. The show is rated PG.
