Man gets 6 years for random sex attacks in Glendale Heights

A Glendale Heights man who told police he was looking for hugs when he sexually attacked three women at random has been sentenced to six years in prison.

Adan Morales-Guerrero, 22, pleaded guilty to attempted criminal sexual assault in January and was sentenced Friday by Judge Kathryn Creswell, according to DuPage County court records. He also must register as a sex offender.

The victims were attacked in March and September last year as they walked through a parking lot outside the defendant’s apartment on the 2300 block of Century Point in late-night or early-morning hours.

Two victims, then ages 41 and 33, were tackled and fondled. Morales-Guerrero kissed the other, age 31, on the mouth and tried to yank down her pants as she walked by him, prosecutors said.

None of the victims knew the attacker, and no serious physical injuries were reported.

Morales-Guerrero was arrested after a witness heard a scream and saw a man lying on the third victim. Prosecutors said the witness intervened and detained the attacker, who was later identified in a lineup by the victims. In an interview, Morales-Guerrero told police he’d been drinking was trying to hug the women, according to prosecutors.
