Pitching matchups: The Cubs' Ryan Dempster (0-3) vs. Yovani Gallardo (4-4) Tuesday at 7:10 p.m.; Paul Maholm (4-4) vs. Zack Greinke (6-2) Wednesday at 7:10 p.m.; Matt Garza (2-4) vs. Randy Wolf (2-5) Thursday at 1:10 p.m.

At a glance: The Cubs are 2-5 against the Brewers this year despite having outscored them 35-34. They most recently lost two of three in Milwaukee from May 11-13. The Brewers (24-30) are banged up, and as a result, they've used 18 different lineups over the past 18 games. Ryan Braun is battling an Achilles tendon injury, and former Cub Aramis Ramirez has a quadriceps injury. Braun has a hitting line of .308/.393/.600 for an OPS of .993. Dempster is 15-6 with a2.75 ERA lifetime against the Brewers, including 0-1 this year. The Brewers entered Monday 15th in ERA (4.34) while the Cubs were 14th (4.28). Milwaukee was fifth in runs scored, 11th in on-base percentage and third in homers. The Cubs were 14th in runs and OBP and 12th in homers.
