Delays on Metra Milwaukee line after crash near Deerfield

Delays are taking place on the Metra’s Milwaukee District North Line after a train collided with an SUV at a railroad crossing at Half Day Road, Metra officials said.

The outbound train collided with the vehicle at about 7:30 a.m. between the Deerfield and Lake Forest train stations, causing delays of about 40 minutes on both inbound and outbound Metra trains, said Metra spokesman Tom Miller.

No one onboard Metra train 2201 was injured in the crash, Miller said. The driver of the SUV received minor injuries in the crash.

People who routinely take the line are urged to check the Metra website at metrarail.com for additional details.
