Barrington High School administrator on leave, under review
An administrator at Barrington High School is on paid leave while school officials conduct an internal review of financial and operational aspects of her position, Barrington Unit District 220 officials said Tuesday.
District spokesman Jeff Arnett said that while the review involves some outside agencies, it is not considered to be a formal investigation. The administrator’s leave — which began April 16 — was mutually agreed upon as being in the best interest of all concerned, he added.
The review does not involve any students or threat to their well-being, Arnett said.
While the review is expected to be completed relatively soon, at this point the administrator’s leave will likely extend through the end of the school year, he said.
The administrator’s name is not being released by the school district, and the Daily Herald’s efforts to contact her independently for comment Tuesday were unsuccessful.
Barrington police did not return a call seeking comment.
