More weekend runs and walks

This is a busy weekend for walks and runs in DuPage County. Here’s a look at some more:

Ÿ Oak Brook Park District and the Hinsdale Hospital Foundation-Open Arms Breast Cancer Awareness Outreach Fund hold a Pink 5K Run/Walk starting with registration from 6 to 7:45 a.m. Saturday and the 5K at 8 a.m. in Central Park, 1450 Forest Gate Road, Oak Brook. Ÿ The Lake Park High School Educational Foundation has two fundraisers: the Lake Park Family 5K Walk/Run and Drive One 4UR School. The run begins at 8 a.m. Saturday; check-in starts at 6:30 a.m. at the school’s East Campus, 600 S. Medinah Road, Roselle. Cost: $20 for adults, $15 for students 18 and younger; includes a race T-shirt and electronic timing results. Proceeds help students recovering from domestic violence situations. Register: signmeup.com/80987. After the race, Friendly Ford partners with Lake Park for Drive One 4UR School from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at East Campus. Ford donates $20 for every test drive of a new Ford vehicle that day, and each person who takes a test drive receives a gift and is entered to win a 2013 Ford Escape. Proceeds benefit the foundation’s emergency support fund. Additionally, Lake Park’s Service in Action club has a car wash during the test drive event to benefit the Leukemia Research Foundation; suggested donation is $3 per car. Info: lphs.org.

Ÿ United Way of DuPage/West Cook sponsors its third annual Live United 5K Run/Walk, with an estimated 350 participants.
