The Earth Day 5K, put on by the Lindenhurst Park District, is set for Saturday, April 28. The race will begin at 9 a.m. at Old Elm and Valley. Runners and walkers will follow Valley to Beck and proceed the length of Beck to High Point, to Beck and finish at Valley and Old Elm. The race is expected to last about an hour, with 75 to 85 participants. Residents who live in the area and travel these roads can expect to have their access limited. At times, certain streets may be closed temporarily to accommodate larger groups of runners/walkers.
