Penalties indicate mismanagement

Did anyone else see the front page of the Daily Herald on April 12th?

If you did and you are a taxpayer, you should be fuming. Here is a big reason why we pay outlandish taxes each year. District 54 continues to give pay raises to employees without taking into consideration the taxpayer. $645,320 in penalties? What's going on over in District 54?

I'll tell you what, mismanagement! This is short of stealing from us. It's a crime. I call for all District 54 school board members and the superintendent to be fired. They obviously have only one thing in mind and that's to take care of themselves in retirement.

How many teachers could have kept their jobs with that $645,320? I say make THEM come up with the money to pay the penalty. We the taxpayer should have some say in this. I'm tired of working hard only to see my taxes going to make someone else's life easier. Did you know former assistant superintendent Mohsin Dada received 22 percent raises in three consecutive years? 22 percent!

Did any of you get those kinds of raises? I didn't. Start petitions and let's clean house. They all need to go. They are not thinking of our children or us. They are thinking of themselves.

Shame on you District 54 school board members and District 54 superintendent, shame on all of you.
