Lindenhurst Earth Day celebration

Lindenhurst will host its Earth-Arbor Day Celebration on Saturday, April 28, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at village hall, 2301 Sand Lake Road. The celebration includes villagewide cleanup, tree-planting, children’s activities and exhibitor booths. Kids can enjoy Mother-Nature’s Bingo, raffles and the park district’s 7th Kite Fly “Flying for Kids” at Slove Park next to village hall. Families can donate 10 plastic bags for recycling to receive a free cloth bag, and volunteers will collect sneakers for recycling. The event is free, and attendees can take advantage of free mulch and compost after 10 a.m.
