Rampage rallies past Wolves

SAN ANTONIO — The Chicago Wolves surrendered the final 3 goals, including the game-winner 14:16 into overtime as they dropped Game 1 of the Western Conference quarterfinals to the San Antonio Rampage on Thursday night at the AT&T Center.

Nicklas Jensen scored twice and Bill Sweatt and Tim Miller netted goals for the Wolves in the best-of-five series which resumes here Saturday.

“We had many chances to win the game, but we couldn’t do it,” said Wolves coach Craig MacTavish.

“At the end of the day it is a stinger of a loss.”

The Rampage netted the overtime winner on the power play. After a scramble around the net, Coby Robak fired home a shot through traffic past the outstretched glove of Wolves goalie Eddie Lack, who registered 32 saves.
