Illinois Tollway committee approves contracts

The Illinois Tollway Board is scheduled to meet on April 26 to consider nearly $170 million in engineering consulting contracts.

The Chicago Tribune reports that an Illinois Tollway committee on Wednesday approved the contracts, which will prepare for rebuilding and widening the Jane Addams Memorial Tollway and building the new Elgin-O’Hare West Bypass.

Tollway Chief Engineer Paul Kovacs says construction contracts are expected to be awarded next year. The engineers will design the road projects and oversee the work of other engineers and construction firms.
