Kwasman’s memorial service at West Chicago H.S.

A memorial service will be held for West Chicago Mayor Mike Kwasman at West Chicago Community High School on Sunday, following his unexpected death.
Kwasman, who was 65, suffered a heart attack Saturday and died Tuesday while surrounded by family and friends at Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield.

The memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. and will be followed by words of remembrance at 4 p.m. at the high school, 326 Joliet Street.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the DuPage Veterans Foundation Honor Flight Chicago, P.O. Box 299, Wheaton, Ill., 60187.
Kwasman was appointed acting mayor in December 2006 after serving as an alderman and was elected to keep the post in April 2007 and again in 2009.
