There is also a Regional Superintendent's Award, and an "Educator of the Year" top overall winner. The latter two awards are chosen from any of the previous four categories.

The nominees from District 300 are Jill Fox, Kathy Lindsey and Cheryl Crates.

Fox has been the learning disabilities resource teacher at Sleepy Hollow Elementary School since 1991, while Lindsey joined the library staff at Lakewood School in Carpentersville nine years ago. She has worked in the district for about 14 years.

Crates, the district's current chief financial officer, joined the district in July 2004. In that time, Crates has helped the district accomplish many significant goals and overcome obstacles including the elimination of a $27 million deficit, completion of $191 million in construction projects, and led administrators in mitigating the affects of the Sears Economic Development Area extension.

Their full biographies as well as comments from their colleagues who nominated them, can be found on the district's website.

The awards ceremony will be held on Friday, May 11 in St. Charles.
