Goss helps Neuqua Valley past Naperville North
Dylan Goss drove in 2 runs with a double to lead Neuqua Valley to a 6-5 victory over cross-town rival Naperville North (4-9) on Saturday in Naperville. Cody Coll was the winning pitcher for the Wildcats (11-3).

In a six-inning game, the Tigers (9-6) scored in every inning but the fifth, winning the nonconference matchup in Wheaton. Matt Simpson got the victory on the mound. Mike Saccucci, Rich O’Neil and Jesse Padalik each went 2-for-3 for the Tigers.

In a nonconference game in Carol Stream, Glenbard North’s Bryan Polowy pitched 5 innings for the victory, striking out five and walking none. Mike Rostine had a home run and 2 RBI. The Panthers are 9-5.

The Knights (5-6) scored 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh inning to win the nonconference game in Elmhurst. Dan Ribando and Christian Mahnke each drove in 3 runs for IC. Chris Ridolphi, Matt Robinson and Alex Zarek had 2 RBI apiece for Timothy Christian.
Plainfield North 6, Metea Valley 5: Mike Fitzgerald went 2-for-3 with a run scored and 2 RBI in a losing cause for Metea Valley, which lost a 5-0 lead when Plainfield North scored 3 in the third inning and 3 more in the fourth.

Jax Castellanos hit a 2-run home run in the fifth inning, brother Augie matched that feat in the seventh inning and Roman Castellanos hit a 3-run shot in the eighth to give the Bison a nonconference victory in Bensenville. Alex Cowan was the winning pitcher.
