Win decorated tree at NISRA holiday fundraiser

Submitted by NISRA

Send a child with a disability to day camp, a Special Olympics athlete to tournaments, or help purchase a wheelchair-accessible bus to transport a disabled veteran to a fitness center.

The Northern Illinois Special Recreation Association Foundation’s 18th annual Holiday Fashion Show & Christmas Tree Raffle benefits these purposes and more.

This event will be Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Holiday Inn, Route 31 and Three Oaks Road in Crystal Lake.

The festive day featuring a luncheon, fashion show, silent auction, and opportunities to win a fully decorated tree and other items is expected to sell out quickly. The doors open at 10:30 a.m., with lunch served at 12:30 p.m. The fashion show begins at 2 p.m.

Tickets are $50 each and proceeds benefit the NISRA’s year-round recreation programs for local children and adults with disabilities. Call NISRA at (815) 459-0737 for information or to make a reservation.

Each tree and its theme-related gifts is valued at approximately $2,000, and Big Kid Powersports will deliver to winners within NISRA’s service area. Old World Gem & Jewelry in McHenry is giving a diamond solitaire pendant for the jewelry raffle.

Generous sponsors include Brake Parts Inc.; Sage Products Inc.; Merrill Lynch; Alliance Contractors Inc.; BMO Harris Bank; Aptargroup; and Miller Verchota Inc.

To date, local retailers providing fashions and jewelry for the show are Aesthetics, Alpine Accessories, Black Orchid, Crazy 8, Dish, Funky Monkey, Gipper Formal Wear, Harmony Skate, J Jill, Katherine’s Bridal, Notice, Maurices, Ms. Bossy Boots, Notice, NY & Co, Tommy Terri Shop, TradeWinds, Viking Shop, and Wear Did U Get That.
