On Opening Day, Cubs fans are born again

Opening Day at Wrigley Field is a holiday at the Hruby household in Wheaton. Matriarch Debra and her son Sean, left, of Geneva, will be attending their 28th consecutive Cubs' opener today. Sean's dad Mike, right, has been to about half of those, while Sean's son Cal, 7, is joining the clan for the third straight year.

Laughing at the memories rekindled by her collection of magnets received at Cubs home openers, Debra Hruby of Wheaton hasn't missed Opening Day at Wrigley Field in 28 years.

Now he skips work and brings along his son, Cal, who will be missing first grade for his third straight opener at Wrigley.
