About this Article

Retired chemistry teacher Tom Redig spent decades teaching the high school crowd, but now he demonstrates "weird science" to much older and even more eager students at Oak Trace Senior Living Community in Downers Grove. But Redig is doing so much more than teaching about science, said Laura Witt. "There's a softer side of Tom that is even more important to residents," Witt said. "He really cares about them and the feeling is mutual."
